Sika to Open Technology Center in China
Sika has significantly expanded its research and development capacity in the Asia/Pacific region by opening a new advanced Technology Center in Suzhou, China.
The facility focuses on developing sustainable and high-performance technologies that have made substantial contributions to the transformation of the construction and automotive sectors.
The new center of excellence will play a key role in evaluating market potential in the Asia/Pacific region. The investment volume is expressed in double-digit millions (CHF).
The Suzhou facility, Sika's second-largest technology center after Zurich, covers approximately 9,000 square meters. Around 150 experts at the center will actively work to develop Sika's technologies of the future. By strategically expanding research and development activities across all core technologies, Sika aims to further strengthen its innovation leadership and market presence in the Asia/Pacific region.
The facilities at the new Technology Center comprise state-of-the-art laboratories where adhesives and sealants are developed. Additionally, research infrastructure has been established for concrete admixtures and CO2-reducing cement technologies. A number of laboratories are also dedicated to developing innovative solutions for the construction and automotive sectors.
The center's primary focus is on developing sustainable solutions for construction and industry, and conducting research particularly on material technologies for renewable energies such as solar and wind power, as well as energy storage and e-mobility. SourceAdvertisement
