Sika Acquires Chema
Sika has agreed to acquire a leading tile coating material manufacturer operating under the Chema brand in Peru.
The acquisition will expand Sika's manufacturing coverage while increasing its activities in distribution channels, presenting significant cross-selling opportunities.
Chema, a family-owned company, holds a strong position in Peru's mortar market with its established brands. It offers a wide range of tile adhesives, tile grouts and other complementary products known for high quality and ease of application.
The acquisition accelerates the development of Sika's Building Finishing portfolio and significantly strengthens its presence in Peru's distribution channels, offering exciting cross-selling opportunities for complementary products such as sealants, adhesives, liquid-applied membranes and waterproofing products.
Chema's manufacturing coverage has a complementary nature to that of Sika Peru. Through the merger of operations, Sika will have a manufacturing scope that will increase its capacity to supply and deliver products to customers throughout the country. The acquisition is subject to approval by local competition authorities.
Americas Region Director Christoph Ganz said: "With our merged operations and improved market access, we will have an excellent platform to further expand and strengthen our presence in the Peruvian market. Our geographic coverage across the country will support our strategic focus on major cities and enable us to serve our new and existing customers better with complete solutions. We look forward to welcoming Chema employees to the Sika family and are excited about developing our business together in the future."
