Qemtex Sets Up New Powder Coating Plant
Qemtex Powder Coatings has begun construction of the United Arab Emirates' first powder coating facility in Umm Al Quwain. The facility in the UAQ Free Trade Zone is expected to become operational by June 2024 and have an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons.
The structure of the Qemtex Powder Coatings facility will take shape in the UAE's UAQ FTZ zone within the next eight months. The facility, targeted to commence operations in June 2024, will have a capacity of 4,000 tons of finished product per year, with production to be increased to 10,000 tons annually over a subsequent three-year plan.
The facility is planned to produce a diverse range of powder coatings. Qemtex, which also plans to enter the US market, will supply powder coatings to all countries in the MENA and EU regions.
Total investment in construction and development over the next three years will exceed AED 60 million (approximately USD 16 million). The project will leverage European technologies and innovations through AsiaColor Powder Coatings, based in Kazakhstan.
At the groundbreaking ceremony, Alexandr Glukhov, founder partner of Qemtex Powder Coatings, said: "We are grateful to Umm Al Quwain and the Free Trade Zone for creating favorable conditions for companies to enter international markets. This is an excellent location for manufacturing with its solid physical and legal infrastructure. At a time when we are expanding globally, this is an important milestone for us as Kazakh entrepreneurs."
