HCI Equity Partners, a leading lower-middle-market private equity firm, announced that Primat Group has made an investment in Curtis Metal Finishing Group, an HCI portfolio company.
Curtis, headquartered in Michigan, provides protective coating, pre-treatment, heat treatment and technical intermediary services designed for fasteners to customers in the automotive, construction, military, home appliances, aerospace and other sectors. Primat applies various coatings for fasteners, primarily serving the automotive industry. Primat plans to leverage Curtis's proprietary line automation technology to provide its automotive customers with high-quality, low-cost supply.
Primat's investment in Curtis enables the company to expand into the North American region, positioning it as a global supplier of fastener coating services to the automotive industry. Primat and HCI Equity Partners will maintain shareholding in Curtis, and Jeff Wilson will continue in his current role as CEO at Curtis.
Dan Dickinson, Managing Partner at HCI, stated: "Primat's investment in Curtis creates the most technologically advanced fastener coating supplier for the automotive industry. Combining Primat's applications with Curtis's location in the heart of the U.S. automotive center will enable it to deliver the highest quality standards to its customers."
