PPG to Acquire Arsonsisi's Powder Coatings Manufacturing Business Unit

PPG Acquires Powder Coatings Manufacturing Business of Arsonsisi The transaction will expand PPG's capacity to produce more sustainable coatings, including metallic binder powders. PPG announced that it has signed an agreement to acquire the powder coatings business of Arsonsisi, an industrial coatings company headquartered in Milan, Italy. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022, subject to customary closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed. Powder coatings are highly sustainable products with improved durability, transfer efficiency, and the ability to be recovered or reused during application. Arsonsisi is a leading supplier of specialized powder coatings for architectural and industrial markets. As part of the transaction, PPG will acquire Arsonsisi's highly automated powder manufacturing facility in Verbania, Italy, with small and large batch capacity. In 2021, Arsonsisi's powder coatings business generated approximately USD 15 million in sales.

Sustainably Advantaged Products

Upon completion, this acquisition will expand PPG's powder coatings supply in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region, including metallic adhesives, one of the fastest-growing markets for specialized powder coatings frequently used in final topcoats for automotive, appliances and general industrial applications. The acquisition aligns with PPG's goal of generating 40% of sales from sustainably advantaged products by 2025.
