Polisan Holding aims to benefit the country's economy by producing import-substitute products through Polisan Kimya's EUR 5 million investment, which represents the first phase of future investment plans. Despite the uncertainties brought by the pandemic process, work has been conducted at Polisan Kimya's R&D center on innovative products to be manufactured in the new facility, and it was noted that the new facility will provide approximately 30% capacity increase. The investment was undertaken with confidence in the future and Turkey's economy.
The facility, which is targeted to begin production in April 2022, will utilize technologies that will enable both increased efficiency and the production of new innovative products. Polisan Holding, which operates with a sustainability approach in all its activities, will continue to contribute to both environmental and sustainability concepts through the technologies used in the new facility by achieving energy efficiency, emission reduction, and optimal use of resources.
Polisan Holding Chairman of the Board M. Emin Bitlis stated in his opening address at the ceremony that investments did not slow down even during the pandemic period, making the following statement: "Today, with Dow Chemical in 2004 and Kansai Paint in 2016 as business partners in their respective fields, we are marking another new beginning in our 57-year history in which we introduced firsts to Turkey's chemical sector.
With our confidence in our country's vision and economy, even in this year filled with uncertainties, alongside continuous capacity investments parallel to our expanding customer portfolio managed through Poliport, which operates our port operations, we have worked on a long-term investment plan to renovate our tank and dock areas. We renovated the new R&D Center building of Polisan Kansai Boya. Today, we have decided to invest in the new resin facility of Polisan Kimya, which continues our chemical operations in Turkey, for which we are laying the foundation. I hope that our new facility will bring blessings to our country, particularly to Dilovası."
