Polisan Kansai Paints is maintaining its strong start to 2022 at the Paintistanbul & Turkcoat Fair held at Istanbul Fair Center. The fair, which runs until 19 March, showcased Polisan Kansai's hobby paints, eco-friendly and innovative paint sets, and new products developed with product lifecycle considerations. Cemal Drahor, General Director of Polisan Kansai Paints, said the Paintistanbul & Turkcoat fair is one of the sector's most important events. Drahor stated, "With a production facility covering 142,000 square meters and a design capacity of 540,000 tons operating in three shifts, Polisan Kansai Paints is an important paint brand not only in Turkey but globally. In 2021, we carried out direct exports to 26 different countries, and we have showrooms in 127 countries. With our new store opened in London, we want to have a greater presence in the EUR 3 billion UK market. These types of fairs actually feed our strategy, which is why we see them as important gatherings," he said. Polisan Kansai Paints presented its latest innovative products at the "International Fair for Paints, Paint Raw Materials, Building Chemicals and Adhesive Raw Materials, Laboratory and Production Equipment" Paintistanbul & Turkcoat, held at Istanbul Fair Center between 17-19 March 2022. Cemal Drahor, General Director of Polisan Kansai Paints, evaluated the fair and provided information on new initiatives, noting that due to the pandemic, physical fairs had not been held for some time and that such events are extremely important for new business partnerships.

Developing new products to protect indoor air quality

Cemal Drahor, who expressed the excitement of explaining their latest products and projects to visitors, having worked meticulously for this important sector gathering, added: "Following the pandemic, with the observed surge in DIY trends in the Turkish paint market, we developed solutions for the hobby and art paint sector. Similarly, we expanded our paint family with anti-bacterial products that prevent mold and fungal growth and prioritize indoor air quality. In our R&D center, which we recently relocated to a new building, we focused on innovation. By deciding to conduct product lifecycle analysis assessments during the R&D stage, we placed environmental performance at the center of all our work. Excellent work is emerging, and we have formulated our strategy through 2025. Today at this fair we are both showing and presenting all of this."

70 percent savings through proper insulation

Cemal Drahor stated that in 2021, alongside artistic paints, they achieved significant growth in acrylic water-based paints, oil-based paints, and spray paint categories, and provided information on their work in the insulation market. Drahor noted, "With external facade thermal insulation, it is possible to achieve energy savings of 35-50 percent in buildings. If we also include roof and basement ceiling insulation, this savings rate can reach 70 percent. We are continuing work to expand the scope of our products in this area. In addition, with low-VOC, water-based, wipeable, high-performance interior facade paints that protect indoor air quality; thanks to their elasticity, our exterior facade paints prevent micro-crack formation and therefore protect against the penetration of harmful gases such as CO₂ and Cl while allowing the building's outer surface to breathe, and with their high UV resistance, they reduce the damaging effects of sunlight and continue to protect urban air quality," he said.

Polisan Kansai Paints manufactures road marking paints with water-based technology

Cemal Drahor noted that a serious sustainability policy and strategy are implemented at Polisan Kansai Paints, stating, "90 percent of our total product portfolio consists of water-based products with high sustainability contribution. Approximately 10 percent falls into product categories that support sustainability. We have even begun producing road marking paints on a water-based basis, removing solvent content. We have launched them for sale both in Turkey and Europe," he said. Raising targets in the GBP 3 billion London market Cemal Drahor, noting that Polisan Kansai Paints, which exported paints to 26 different countries in 2021, opened stores in the UK in addition to France, Libya, Turkmenistan, and Romania, continued: "With our new store opened in London/Watford, we have increased the number of our Polisan Showrooms abroad to 127. In the UK paint market, valued at 721 million liters, we decided to support our business processes with our showroom to further strengthen our position. With our Polisan Showroom opened in London/Watford, we aim to capture a significant share of the approximately EUR 3 billion UK paint market. By developing products for overseas markets to increase our export revenues and supporting this strategy with our showrooms, we intend to achieve sustainable growth."
