The Bazaart Project, organized with the support of Yenikoy Rotary Club, took place at Ferda Art Platform between 7-9 March 2022. Emine Bostancı received the special award on the theme of "Violence Against Women" at the Bazaart Project, which Polisan Kansai Boya has sponsored for seven years.
The Award-Winning Work: "Next in Line"
Emine Bostancı received Polisan Kansai Boya's special award with her work titled "Next in Line" (Sıradaki). The company, through its "Every Voice is a Breath" project, aims to promote solution-focused, collective and sustainable social awareness against societal women's issues and violence-based women's tragedies.Emine Bostancı Shared Her Thoughts
"I generally work on puppets and cloth dolls. I view them as people from everyday life. I based my work titled 'Next in Line' on damaged, worn, and broken dolls. I tried to emphasize limitations such as 'women don't laugh, don't wear makeup, don't go out late' through details," said Bostancı, explaining that with the mirror in her work, she wanted viewers to see their own faces and consider the possibility that the next woman who could be subjected to violence could be themselves.Alara Bitlis Made a Statement
Alara Bitlis, who visited the exhibition and attended the award ceremony on behalf of Polisan Kansai Boya, said: "Violence against women is not limited to physical violence. As we become aware of the types of violence and address this issue as a society while protecting the rights of our women, we will continue to improve as a society. Supporting our young people who draw attention to this issue through art, ensuring their voices are heard, and our efforts against violence against women are very important to us. We will continue to support art. We thank the Bazaart project for making sense of this issue and supporting our young artists."Advertisement
