PETRONAS Introduces New Corrosion Technology

New Corrosion Technology from PETRONAS PETRONAS has launched a new corrosion inhibitor product. ProShield+ is formulated using graphene material, an ultra-high barrier advanced material. ProShield+, a paint additive used in steel structures, has been proven to enhance the resistance of coatings to harsh weather conditions and protect structures from corrosive substances. Compared with conventional epoxy paint, the formulation contains three times higher water barrier properties and helps improve adhesion, abrasion resistance and ultraviolet (UV) resistance. ProShield+, which has demonstrated up to three times greater improvement in abrasion resistance compared to conventional epoxy paint, can be added to primary paint systems to double the average lifespan of surface coatings, extending durability to up to 16 years. It can be applied like other coat paints and requires no changes to existing paint mixing processes.
