Metal Finishing Technologies (MFT) has acquired Aqua Blasting as part of its strategy to expand and diversify its range of surface finishing solutions.
Metal Finishing Technologies, LLC (MFT), a leading supplier of metal finishing and specialty coating services to aerospace, defense and industrial customers, has announced the acquisition of Aqua Blasting Corp., a Bloomfield, CT-based company providing shot peening and blasting services to the aerospace, defense, medical and semiconductor markets.
Founded in 1971, Aqua Blasting has demonstrated expertise in shot blasting and abrasive blasting technologies. The company's areas of specialization include shot peening, glass bead peening, dry abrasive blasting, wet abrasive blasting, vapor blasting, soda blasting and automated blasting.
The company holds FAA Part 145 Repair Station, NADCAP AC7117 & AC7117/2 Surface Enhancement, NADCAP AC7004 Aerospace Quality System, U.S. ATF Federal Firearms License, ITAR compliance and numerous other important certifications.

First acquisition under Battle Investment Group partnership
This acquisition marks an important milestone for MFT as the first acquisition under the Battle Investment Group partnership. The acquisition of Aqua Blasting expands and diversifies MFT's surface finishing portfolio by adding surface enhancement capacity. Peter Mirabello, Chairman of MFT, commented on the matter as follows: "Over the past three years, MFT has made significant investments in its facility to expand its service range and capabilities, including the addition of non-destructive testing and new NADCAP coating lines. Aqua Blasting represents an exciting next step in MFT's development." Alex Bosse, Director of Battle Investment Group, stated, "MFT is strategically developing additional capabilities to serve all of its metal surface finishing needs in-house, and we believe the acquisition of Aqua Blasting is an attractive opportunity to vertically integrate the solutions MFT offers with surface enhancement technologies. Customers prefer to consolidate metal processing services with a single supplier, and having the ability to control more of the process gives MFT a competitive advantage. We believe this will present an attractive value proposition for both existing and new customers." SourceAdvertisement
