KEIM Mineral-Based Potassium Silicate Paints - Sustainable, Ecological, Class A2 Non-Flammable

Sustainability is progress… "Today's generation should choose a lifestyle that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability to meet the needs of future generations." Brundtlandt Report 1987. KEIMFARBEN represents a step in the right direction with a completely mineral product. Our future requires responsibility. With this awareness of responsibility, KEIMFARBEN has, since its foundation in 1878, continuously researched and developed mineral products and systems alongside meeting the demands and requirements of its users and addressing sustainability.

Sustainability

Building sustainably also means building safely and healthily. In this context, sustainability requires the selection of different construction materials. Durable, renewable, safe, healthy. KEIM Mineral-Based Potassium Silicate Paints emerge as a solution that meets precisely these requirements.

Healthy

People spend approximately 80% of their lives indoors. The materials that surround us almost throughout the day and the environment have a significant impact on our quality of life. This is certainly true especially for architectural paints. For example, emissions can pollute the air in a room and be harmful to health. For this reason, products containing plasticizers should be avoided in particular. Most paints work on the principle of adhesion to surfaces, creating a layer. Many even prevent surfaces from breathing. Because moisture cannot be expelled outside, mold formation begins to appear on wall surfaces after a while. Figure A. Plasticizers, solvents and similar substances in many interior paints can negatively affect the air quality of living spaces. Figure B. In spaces where KEIM is applied, no polluting effects are found. Quality of life increases. It is healthy and safe. High-quality KEIM potassium silicate paints provide exceptional performance, durability, protection and color fastness. Today, along with environmental awareness, demand for high-quality, long-lasting and environmentally friendly paints has increased. KEIM meets this demand by offering a comprehensive range of mineral-based products and successfully developing a proven fundamental concept. KEIM paints penetrate into the substrate. They do not create a separate layer on the surface. Contains no plasticizers, solvents or VOC. KEIM increases the quality of life in living spaces. Tests conducted by independent accredited laboratories show that KEIM can provide ideal living environments for those with allergic sensitivities. KEIM regulates moisture balance in the environment and prevents condensation on wall surfaces. Mineral-based Potassium Silicate KEIM Paints are alkaline and prevent algae and mold formation. They breathe. They are odorless. Because they are produced from natural and renewable materials, they are ecological. They are long-lasting and environmentally friendly.

Safe

Because they are silicates, KEIM paints are sustainably safe and non-flammable. In the event of fire, they do not ignite and do not release toxic gases. Differences in their chemical composition, application thickness and other factors protect building elements' fire resistance for periods of 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. Under certain conditions, the behavior a building material exhibits when exposed to fire also determines its reaction to fire. Fire resistance classes are determined based on the reaction to fire shown by the building material. Fire resistance class can be determined as A1, A2, B1, B2, B3 and C as a result of tests conducted by internationally accredited laboratories. In the fire resistance class, category A is evaluated as "non-flammable". KEIM Mineral-based Potassium Silicate Paints are classified in the A2 class category. They do not ignite and do not release harmful gases during fire. They have certificates from internationally accredited laboratories on this matter. (Confirmation B11125-1 of class DIN 4101- A2 and class A2-s1, d0 according to EN 13501-1). KEIM mineral-based Potassium Silicate Paints are particularly preferred and used worldwide in all large and small-scale structures—from residential buildings to hospitals, schools to metro systems, airports to bridges—for the healthy, safe and comfortable sustainable impact and ecological properties they provide. KEIM is different. KEIM creates healthy and safe environments for you. Müge Günel Architect - Conservator Letoon Architecture
