Differences in their chemical composition, application thickness and other factors protect building elements' fire resistance for periods of 30, 60, 90 or 120 minutes. Under certain conditions, the behavior a building material exhibits when exposed to fire also determines its reaction to fire. Fire resistance classes are determined based on the reaction to fire shown by the building material. Fire resistance class can be determined as A1, A2, B1, B2, B3 and C as a result of tests conducted by internationally accredited laboratories. In the fire resistance class, category A is evaluated as "non-flammable". KEIM Mineral-based Potassium Silicate Paints are classified in the A2 class category. They do not ignite and do not release harmful gases during fire. They have certificates from internationally accredited laboratories on this matter.
