Tolga Kayalar, Board Member at Kayalar Kimya, stated on Bloomberg HT's Asset Management programme that global competition in the new era is being shaped around technology, innovation and sustainability, and noted that high-value-added manufacturing is of critical importance for the future of Turkish industry.
Tolga Kayalar, Board Member at Kayalar Kimya, in his assessment on the Asset Management programme broadcast on Bloomberg HT, noted that the global manufacturing ecosystem is undergoing a significant transformation, and stated that competitive strength in industry is no longer measured solely by production capacity, but rather by technology development capability, sustainability performance and innovation power.
Noting that the chemical sector ranks among Turkey's strategic sectors, Kayalar emphasized that the sector makes important contributions to the country's economy through its production power, export capacity and value creation.
"Today the chemical sector is not only a manufacturing sector, but also a technology-developing sector," said Kayalar, adding that sustainable products in paints and coatings technologies, high-performance solutions and advanced formulation capabilities have become fundamental elements of competition.
Competitive Advantage in the New Era: Innovation and Technology
Pointing out that competitive conditions are changing rapidly on a global scale, Kayalar noted that companies are now standing out not only through cost advantage, but through R&D investments, customer focus, product development competence and accumulated technical knowledge.
Noting that China has become one of the countries determining the direction of global competition through technology and innovation investments in recent years, Kayalar said Turkish industry needs to strengthen its strategies for value-added manufacturing and brand-focused growth.
Kayalar stated, "In the future, what will differentiate companies will not be only how much they produce, but how much innovation they can generate. R&D investments and technology development capacity will be among the key determinants of competitive power."

Artificial Intelligence Starting a New Era in the Chemical Sector
Noting that artificial intelligence technologies will play an important role in the transformation of the chemical sector, Tolga Kayalar stated that AI-assisted systems will become widespread especially in formulation development processes, product performance analysis and efficiency applications.
Kayalar said, "In the period ahead, AI-assisted formulation development, sustainable raw materials and high-performance product groups will play a decisive role in the transformation of our sector. The path to developing high-value-added products and growth in global markets runs through innovation."

Turkey Has Significant Opportunities in Global Supply Chains
Noting that the transformation taking place in global supply chains has created important opportunities for Turkey, Tolga Kayalar said Europe's supply security concerns and the trend towards sourcing from neighbouring geographies create a strategic advantage for Turkish manufacturers.
Emphasizing that Turkey has the potential to be an important manufacturing hub with its strong production infrastructure, accumulated technical knowledge and geographical location, Kayalar expressed his belief that high-value-added manufacturing, sustainable technology investments and innovation-focused growth approach will further advance the country's competitive strength.
