KANSAI HELIOS acquires WEILBURGER Coatings

Kansai Helios acquires WEILBURGER Coatings, an established paints manufacturer with over a century of global operations. Kansai Paint Co, Ltd announced that Kansai Helios Coatings GmbH, its consolidated subsidiary in Europe, will acquire the Industrial Paints business division of WEILBURGER Coatings GmbH and WEILBURGER Asia Ltd. The acquisition will be completed through a 100% share transfer of WEILBURGER owned by GREBE Holding GmbH and will encompass all industrial coatings operations including WEILBURGER's sales and manufacturing facilities in Europe, the Americas, Asia and other regions. Since its establishment in 1900, WEILBURGER has been operating globally for over 120 years, particularly in Europe and many other regions. The company's consolidated sales are estimated to have been around EUR 150 million in 2023.

Stronger position in the industrial paints market

Through this acquisition, Kansai Paint Group aims to significantly strengthen its position in the industrial coatings market by introducing WEILBURGER's advanced technologies—such as non-stick coatings for frying pans and irons, heat-resistant paints for stoves and fireplaces, and railway coatings—to a wider customer base. Under its 17th Medium-Term Management Plan, Kansai Paint Group is engaged in small and medium-sized mergers and acquisitions activities, primarily in Europe and India. To date, Kansai Helios has acquired Wefa's railway business assets (August 2022), CWS Group (February 2023) and Beckers' railway business assets (May 2023). Following WEILBURGER's integration into Kansai Paint Group, Kansai Helios will continue to implement the company's "aggressive investment in growing markets" strategy while focusing on creating synergies and ensuring sustainable growth in corporate value.
