İzocam Sets Sail for Sustainability

Focused on energy efficiency and environmentally-friendly production, İzocam is pioneering sustainable futures and good living standards through its sailing team established with Sailmaster. The İzocam Sailing Team is a team that includes İzocam employees who have received basic sailing training from the professional Sailmaster team. The sailing team will participate in 3 trophies and 30 races throughout 2022, namely the BAYK Bodrum Winter Trophy, MIYC Marmaris Winter Trophy and Bosphorous Cup. The team held its first race on 15-16 January at the first leg of the BAYK Bodrum Winter Trophy, and will hold its next race on 22-23 January at the MIYC Marmaris Winter Trophy. İzocam stated that it has charted its course to the seas in order to draw attention to environmental issues such as sustainability and climate change.

İzocam Established Sailing Team to Raise Awareness on Global Climate Change

İzocam created a sailing team that includes employees trained by the Sailmaster team. The sailing team will participate in numerous races during 2022. According to a statement from İzocam, the company has charted its course to the seas in order to draw attention to sustainability, global climate change and good living rights. The İzocam Sailing Team will participate in 3 trophies and 30 races throughout 2022. İzocam General Director Murat Savcı, noting that insulation is by its nature a strong and necessary element supporting sustainability, emphasized that they established the İzocam Sailing Team in order to raise awareness and create consciousness regarding global climate change. Emphasizing that they are sailing under the message of "more insulation means less energy consumption, more natural energy (wind) and less energy consumption," Murat Savcı said, "As days pass, the air we breathe becomes more polluted, and increasing greenhouse gas emissions trigger global warming, laying the groundwork for a climate crisis. In order to reach the goal of a more livable world in the future, we need to reduce energy consumption very soon and begin to use our existing resources much more efficiently."

They Prevented 650 Million Tons of Carbon Emissions in 57 Years with Their Products

Savcı also discussed İzocam's objectives. Savcı said: "As İzocam, with the products we manufacture, we have prevented 650 million tons of carbon emissions in 57 years! By 2050, we have the goal of becoming carbon neutral by bringing our large-scale investments online! In this direction, in 2021 we implemented a stack filter investment at our Tarsus facility that enabled us to achieve air emission values meeting world standards. Within the scope of reducing energy consumption, we renewed the lighting types in all our facilities with environmentally-friendly practices. We established energy monitoring systems in our rock wool and glass wool production facilities and contributed to the circular economy by implementing recovery and efficiency projects. We first obtained the Basic Level Zero Waste Certificate for our Tarsus facility, and expanded it to all our facilities by year-end. Now, within the framework of our mission to pioneer 'good living' and 'sustainable futures,' we are harnessing the power of nature (wind) with our sails and reducing fossil fuels in order to draw attention to global climate change," Savcı said.

Murat Savcı noted that sailing sport, where all athletes focus on achieving a single goal and everyone performs their duties best throughout the race, also strengthens team consciousness among employees.
