HISTOR Paint by PPG Launches MY color Solution
PPG announced the launch of MY color, a proprietary solution by its HISTOR™ paint brand that enables consumers to create custom palettes matching and coordinating their favorite colors, and to view colors in their own homes using self-adhesive color samples instead of traditional liquid test applicators.
After downloading the free MY color app from Google Play or Apple App Store, consumers can take a photo of an object or use a color available online. The app matches it with the closest HISTOR paint by PPG by tone and provides a palette of matching and complementary colors.
Consumers can then order ColorTester A5 pages coated with actual paint to make testing colors easier. Elselien Wijnsouw, Marketing Manager at HISTOR paint by PPG, said: "Why let trends decide which colors you choose? MY color is based on the needs of creative consumers who draw inspiration from their own favorite colors, whether from a beautiful holiday photo or a new lipstick."
"With MY color, bringing these colors into your home has never been easier. You can discover matching color combinations and create your own palette." Each MY color palette consists of lighter neutrals complemented by deeper, darker and more striking colors with both warm and cool tones represented.
It uses the 60-30-10 principle with 60% for the main color of a room, 30% for accent colors and 10% for the highlight color. Frans van Rooijen, Senior Marketing Manager at PPG Architectural Coatings, said: "Finding the right color or color combination can be difficult, but MY color ensures that the palette will match your home and furniture" and added: "What makes the solution unique are the self-adhesive A5 ColorTester samples.
By eliminating one of the most important points of the color journey, you can truly see how colors will look without having to paint a sample on the wall."
