GCP Unveils Sustainable Solutions

GCP's Proven Sustainable Solutions Reducing CO2 Emissions by 23 Million Tonnes GCP Applied Technologies, a leading global construction products provider, has unveiled product solutions that address more than 60 percent of the actions outlined by the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) toward achieving carbon-neutral concrete production by 2050. Given that cement accounts for 8 percent of global man-made CO2 emissions, the importance of finding resource solutions to improve sustainability here becomes evident. Aware that the options must also be cost-effective, GCP not only reduces carbon throughout the lifecycle of concrete in its products but also cuts costs. In 2021, GCP's cement additives and concrete admixtures reduced its customers' CO2 emissions by approximately 23 million tonnes, a figure equivalent to removing seven million vehicles from traffic daily. GCP's products are aligned with the GCCA 2050 Net Zero Concrete Cement and Concrete Industry Roadmap and play an important role in extending the life of concrete structures as well as reducing CO2 and operating costs.
