İZODER Chairman Emrullah Eruslu, commenting on 2023 assessments, stated: "Today we see that our insulation sector's production and sales have reached approximately USD 2 billion, and the total insulation sector including all services has reached nearly USD 7 billion. Together with the urban renewal movement expected to accelerate, we aim to increase our growth momentum in 2024." Emrullah Eruslu, Chairman of the Board of İZODER Heat Water Sound and Fire Insulation Contractors Association, expressing that their most important agenda item in 2023 was to contribute to healing the wounds in the earthquake zone, continued as follows: "As İZODER, immediately after the earthquake, we worked in cooperation with official institutions and with the support of many of our members, we ensured the delivery of insulation materials to tent cities to protect earthquake survivors from harsh winter conditions. Our contacts with the region continue. Without forgetting that our country is in the earthquake belt, it has painfully become clear once again that we need emergency science-based construction. To avoid similar tragedies, we must take the necessary steps without delay. In reconstruction processes, we must bear in mind that waterproofing, which serves as a shield against corrosion—the greatest enemy of buildings—has vital importance in preserving building durability and structural safety. As İZODER, we are ready to provide every kind of contribution in the field of insulation for proper construction during the urban renewal process." Insulation sector provides employment to 150,000 people

İZODER Chairman Emrullah Eruslu, noting that insulation sector production and sales have reached USD 2 billion, and the total insulation sector including all services has reached nearly USD 7 billion, stated the following: "In addition to our sector's size, we are playing an active role in our country's development by creating approximately 150,000 direct and indirect jobs. We are also pleased to see that we have recorded significant momentum in exports in recent years and serious investments are being realized toward becoming a global production center for our sector. As a sector, we aim to increase our growth momentum in 2024 and continue our contributions to our country's economy and employment."
Buildings without insulation waste USD 12-15 billion annually
Expressing that as İZODER they will continue to explain the contributions of heat, water, sound, fire, and piping insulation—among the most important conditions for safe, energy-efficient, healthy and comfortable buildings—in 2024, Emrullah Eruslu continued his remarks as follows: "In our country, due to buildings without insulation, 80 percent of which remain outside the scope of legal regulations concerning energy efficiency, approximately USD 12 to 15 billion is wasted annually. The increase of energy-efficient, safe, comfortable and environmentally friendly construction through urban renewal and in-situ renewal are among our most important expectations for 2024. Our 2024 agenda will include numerous training programs, projects, studies and public partnerships to better understand and advance our sector."
Insulation Sector Awaits TS 825 Revision in 2024
Eruslu, emphasizing that they expect good news at the beginning of 2024 regarding the revision of TS 825 standard on Heat Insulation Rules in Buildings, stated: "While developed countries take many steps toward energy efficiency in buildings and lower energy limits, in our country 2008-defined energy limits are being used. In short; our energy waste is 3 to 5 times greater when compared with developed countries. We must urgently bring our energy limits and U values to the level of developed countries, as also defined in the Energy Efficiency Strategy Document. The revision of TS 825 standard on Heat Insulation Rules in Buildings must be carried out without further delay," he concluded his remarks.
