As Kromaş, we have more than 1,000 product varieties, and as Rösler, more than 8,000 surface treatment consumable product varieties. Many leading institutional companies in the sector in Turkey rely on Rösler products and services.
In our test centre, our process specialists work to develop flawless processes that match your machined parts precisely. It is the daily routine of our specialists to operate according to the understanding of setting up a system based on your requirements and your existing production line. The method applied to give the desired properties to the surface of a part is called surface treatment.
To achieve the best results, the correct choice of surface treatment machine together with the correct abrasive and polishing material is very important. When determining which material should be used, many parameters that affect the results must be taken into account.
The most important parameters are;
• Shape, size and quality of the abrasive material,
• Type, capacity and shape of the machine,
• Shape, material and weight of the work piece,
• Screening meshes,
• Grinding and polishing requirements.
Abrasives, together with the vibration amplitude generated in the machine and appropriate chemicals, bring the expected surface roughness value (Ra, Rz, etc.) on the surface to the desired level by removing micro chips.
The geometry of abrasives directly affects the targeted surface treatment quality. Abrasive geometry is critically important depending on the shape and complexity of the part.
Holes, corners and recesses on the part must be compatible with the shape of the abrasives. For this reason, in R&D studies conducted for changing surface treatment needs every day, while developing abrasives with new properties that are environmentally conscious, importance is also given to the development of stone geometries.
With the pandemic and the changing working conditions, our team devoted more time to R&D studies, and in recent times "EcoShape Plastic Stone" surface treatment consumable materials produced ecologically by Rösler Italia, available in various geometries and developed to increase efficiency, have taken their place among our surface treatment consumables.
EcoShape
The use of plastics in every sector today inevitably increases the amount of waste every day. Unfortunately, millions of tons of plastic waste are dumped into nature every year.
It is known that approximately 8 million of these plastic wastes are dumped into the oceans. Only 9% of these plastic wastes dumped into nature are recycled and 12% are burned every year, releasing harmful fumes back into nature. The most important solution for reducing plastic waste is reuse and recycling.
Reusing plastic waste that has completed its service life after the lowest possible consumption and recycling it for different functions in various sectors are considered among the methods that strengthen waste reduction.
With its high environmental consciousness, Rösler Gruppe felt the need to develop products produced at Rösler Italia from recycled PET bottles, environment-friendly, without the use of hazardous materials or solvents, with ecological and conscious production safety. The R&D team, which started its first production studies in 2012, presented the "EcoShape" stone, produced ecologically and with different geometries, for use in the surface treatment sector in 2018.
EcoShape Production and Advantages
For the production of EcoShape plastic stone, used plastic bottles, which are the raw material, are withdrawn from the market, cleaned and shredded. The heat-cut plastic pieces are then melted and assimilated into the abrasive.
Then, using the extrusion method, different geometries are produced through various mold heads. Because curing is not required in its production, the short production time provides fast usability.
EcoShape plastic stone, by being produced with extrusion technique, not using solvent in its production, and having low silica content abrasive, allows us to consume less energy in mixing raw materials and release fewer pollutants to the atmosphere, thus being environmentally friendly and providing an environmentally conscious working environment.
During storage, it does not require expensive, cool and dry storage, thus providing cost savings. EcoShape plastic stone, due to being produced with the extrusion method compared to the casting production method in classic plastic stone production, offers a wide range of geometries.
The production method provides the opportunity to produce plastic stone in ceramic stone form. In fact, customized shapes can also be produced according to customer needs. Thus, better process performance is achieved on complex geometry parts.
In vibration surface treatment technology, when the dimensions of the stone and work piece are close to each other, it becomes difficult to separate the work piece from the stones by screening at the end of the process. EcoShape plastic stone, due to its wide range of geometries, facilitates screening. With the use of EcoShape plastic stone, in the wastewater in purification systems used for recycling water and chemicals during the process, the physical separation of abrasive particles occurs much faster than other types of plastic media. Thus, it simplifies water treatment.
