Dyckerhoff Launches New White Cement Product Dyckerhoff has introduced Dyckerhoff Weiss BLUE STAR, its newly developed cement with reduced carbon dioxide emissions. This pozzolanic cement was approved by VDZ in June with the CEM IV/A (P) 42.5 R standard and has been included in the delivery program of the Amöneburg plant since that date. Compared to CEM I cements, production of Dyckerhoff Weiss BLUE STAR releases approximately 15% less CO2. Dyckerhoff experts have been working for some time on alternative input materials for white cement production with the aim of reducing CO2 footprint.

In addition to limestone powder, suitable input materials have been proven to be particularly natural pozzolans that can replace clinker.

These consist of silicic acid, alumina, limestone and alkalies. The interaction of silicic acid with calcium hydroxide (cement) and water results in a pozzolanic reaction. For over 90 years, Dyckerhoff WEISS has given concrete new momentum in construction and design, and now is developing solutions to carry white cement into a CO2-efficient future. Source
