Tom Bowtell, President of the World Coatings Council (WCC), spoke at the paintistanbul&Turkcoat Fair. In his presentation titled 'Global Market Trends and World Coatings Council Priorities,' Bowtell provided information on the history and operations of the World Coatings Council before evaluating the paints and coatings industry on a global scale. Highlighting the importance of middle-class expansion and GDP growth in the coatings sector's expansion, Bowtell detailed the impact of numerous megatrends such as climate change, sustainability and digitalization on the industry. In his presentation, which reviewed the sustainability report published by the World Coatings Council, he also emphasized the importance of preventing microplastic use in the paints sector.
