Distek Thermal Diffusion Coating Systems Distek corrosion-preventive coating lines deliver energy savings, reduce waste and lower costs. Distek thermal diffusion galvanizing (TDG) coating lines offer a broad product range while providing time and cost savings. Distek user-friendly thermal diffusion galvanizing (TDG) coating lines employ innovative technology incorporating patented powders and materials to help manufacturers apply superior corrosion-preventive coatings in-house. Distek's simple and environmentally responsible operation enables manufacturers to run corrosion-preventive coating lines within their own facilities. These characteristics eliminate the need for engineering expertise or environmental protection permits. Customers not only obtain a superior corrosion prevention solution; they also benefit from the advanced efficiency that the technology provides. This delivers time and cost savings.

Save Money by Moving Coating In-House

Naturally, the most significant savings come from the ability to perform corrosion-preventive coating in-house. Corrosion-preventive coating is an integral part of your production process – by manufacturing your components in-house, coating them, and then simply preparing them for shipment, you achieve substantial efficiencies. In this way, you save time and all costs associated with parts traveling to and from coating suppliers. Furthermore, external coating firms will naturally charge a markup to generate profit. However, if coating is performed in-house, the company pays only the material cost.

Significant Energy Savings

Energy costs have continued to rise in recent periods. For operations worldwide, minimizing energy consumption is a fundamental priority. Distek's solution can provide substantial assistance in this regard. This is because it delivers significant energy savings compared to other firms using the traditional hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) method. The HDG method requires genuinely high energy costs. Temperature in large zinc baths must be continuously maintained at 600 °C. Distek's thermal diffusion coating process operates at much lower temperatures. Energy savings rates in Distek coating technology are at the highest level. The ability to turn equipment on and off as needed rather than continuously is also a factor. Continuous energy is not required to maintain temperature; energy is needed only to preserve the temperature. This technology provides not only the opportunity to minimize energy use but also another benefit: it strengthens the company's environmentally responsible identity, a value more important than cost savings alone.
No Waste
Distek's entire corrosion-preventive coating process is environmentally friendly. No wastewater, hazardous substances, or pollutant waste are generated. The closed system includes a water treatment process that recycles water, while the dry process contains no acids or toxic elements. Distek is completely environmentally responsible – in a sector where environmental matters carry great importance, Distek technology is an advantage. In the past, corrosion-preventive coating facilities needed special permits and personnel knowledgeable in safely handling pollutant waste. Because the Distek solution is completely environmentally responsible, companies need not deal with waste management.
Superior Corrosion Resistance
The Distek thermal diffusion method enhances product quality by ensuring long-lasting coating quality of finished products. Distek's thermal diffusion zinc coating complies with a range of standards including ASTM A1059 and BS-EN 17668:2016. Because rust spots, grease residues, and other foreign matter on component surfaces typically do not affect the coating, minimal pre-treatment is required before coating. Usually, the only step needed is processing with a shot-blasting machine. The process provides consistent thickness in the 20–120 μm range even on internal surfaces. Vaporized zinc penetrates the surface and integrates with the base material, forming a zinc-iron layer. Passivation and topcoat treatments strengthen corrosion resistance, creating a hard, non-magnetic, weldable coating that is also flexible. This particularly means that components can be reshaped without any damage to the coating. The technology is compatible with a wide variety of coatings and paints. Distek's coating method has proven to provide superior protection thanks to its strong corrosion resistance. Tests demonstrate that the coating withstands the most demanding conditions, including 3,000-hour salt-spray testing, and is 5–10 times better than the hot-dip galvanizing (HDG) method. Additionally, it provides high abrasion resistance with micro-hardness up to 1636HV, preventing galling on stainless steel fasteners.
