BASF Construction Chemicals Now Operating Under the MBCC Group Name
Mannheim, Germany, 1 October 2020 - MBCC Group, a company established following Lone Star Funds' acquisition of the former BASF Construction Chemicals business, will commence operations as of 1 October 2020. Lone Star concluded its commercial transactions with BASF effective from midnight on 30 September 2020. Lone Star is now the new owner of the business. MBCC Group separated from BASF Group over the past 18 months and is now a fully independent organization.

Dr. Jochen Fabritius appointed as CEO
Lone Star Funds, the new owner of the group of companies, has appointed Dr. Jochen Fabritius as the new Chief Executive Officer of MBCC Group. Fabritius is a civil engineer who has spent nearly his entire career in the construction sector following his education. He is a highly experienced specialist in the construction industry. Fabritius previously joined Xella in 2014, where he first served as Operations Director and then as CEO from 2017 onwards. Before that, he worked for 15 years at McKinsey & Company consulting firm. Commenting on his new role, Fabritius stated: "I am very pleased to be joining MBCC Group, working in close collaboration with a strong global management team, and my aim will be to realize MBCC Group's full potential. At this point, I would like to thank all employees for their hard work and dedication in successfully conducting this separation process while adhering to an ambitious timeline despite the adverse effects of the global pandemic.

Innovation, one of the core drivers of success for the new MBCC Group companies, is strongly positioned through a network of global and regional research and development centers. At the global research and development center in Trostberg, Germany, experts work on fundamental research and new concrete technologies, and also develop new products and processes for construction chemicals and related system solutions. This center serves MBCC Group's innovation chain with regard to admixture systems, underground construction and resins, and manages the entire patent portfolio as well as global technology projects. MBCC Group operates regional development centers in North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Middle East-Russia-Africa regions.
