Axalta Opens New Color Experience Room
Axalta opened its sixth Color Experience Room in Milan, Italy. The 80-square-meter showroom, located in Milan—one of the world's design capitals—will support Italian industrial designers and architects in selecting the best powder coatings for their projects. This Color Experience Room demonstrates Axalta's growing market share in Italy and the company's ongoing commitment to supporting the architecture and design sectors.
The Color Experience Room is designed as a white cocoon filled with daylight, allowing visitors to focus on the displayed coating samples.
Color Expert and Specification Leader Cecila Montiel provided comments on the matter. Montiel stated: "This region has a strong experimental design culture as well as a history of interior and furniture manufacturing. As we continue to increase our market share in Italian architecture and design sectors, it made sense to offer our customers in the Milan area and beyond on-demand showroom services."
A Space to Discover Color
Montiel, a former architecture student, discussed the complexity of color in design and said: "Color psychology is very important. The colors around us affect how we use a space and how we feel. All of this is closely linked to perception; we perceive colors differently depending on light, other nearby colors, and our own cultural color references. That's why we wanted to create a 'blank slate' for architects and designers; a space where they can explore thousands of colors and finishes that can be specified for a project." she said.Advertisement
