Construction Begins on Europe's Largest Central Bank Building
Construction has begun on the Central Bank building at Istanbul International Finance Centre, which will become Europe's tallest building upon completion.
The 59-storey project, which will reach 352 metres with its antenna tower, counts Bostik among its project partners.

Bostik products were selected for wet-area applications in the building's carpark sections. During construction, 300 tonnes of Bostik SH C Floor Hardener (Corundum Aggregate), 15 tonnes of Bostik WBC Acrylic Concrete Cure, 90 tonnes of Bostik CeraBest Platinum, and 35 tonnes of Bostik CemenTech C2 Extra 2-Component Extra-Flexible Waterproofing Mortar will be used.
The Central Bank project, which belongs to Limak Holding A.Ş., is scheduled for completion in March 2022. Company officials stated that through Bostik's intelligent product range, all solutions required by this special structure have been achieved for its construction.

Properties of Bostik products used
Bostik SH C Floor Hardener (Corundum Aggregate): A cement-based floor hardener with corundum aggregate only, ready for use and applied monolithically to concrete surfaces. Applied as a broadcast to fresh concrete. Produces dust-free, smooth-surfaced floors. Offers superior resistance to wear and impact compared to conventional concrete. Durable and long-lasting against heavy traffic. Increases concrete impermeability, does not oxidise and is non-flammable. Easy to clean and maintain. Suitable for use in all interior and exterior spaces from roads and carpark areas to industrial and commercial warehouses, from underground passages and metro stations to petrol stations and quaysides.Bostik WBC Acrylic Concrete Cure: A single-component liquid curing material based on acrylic resin, used to prevent cracks that may form on the surface due to rapid evaporation of mixing water in the mortar.
Ready for use, WBC is applied as a curing material to concrete and Bostik SH floor hardener-treated surfaces. Prevents wear of concrete and screed surfaces. Produces a dust-free, hard surface. The resulting transparent film layer increases concrete impermeability. By preventing rapid water loss from fresh concrete, it minimises the risk of crack formation during the drying and setting phase. Prevents concrete from developing a porous surface. Used on concrete screeds, in closed and open carparks, warehouses, concrete pours in hot weather, and on surfaces where Bostik SH Floor Hardener has been applied. Bostik CeraBest Platinum: A cement-based adhesive mortar produced in accordance with TS EN 12004, classified as C2TE, used for bonding ceramic, tile, mosaic and similar cladding materials to floors and walls. Resistant to water and moisture and long-lasting. Has extended working time. Plastic consistency and easy to apply. Does not slip vertically. Has hydraulic binding properties. Non-flammable. Flexible. Used for bonding all types of stone, concrete and stone-based slabs, ceramics, tiles, perforated and non-perforated ceramic sheets, arch stones, etc. on floors and walls, both horizontally and vertically. Bostik CemenTech C2 Extra 2-Component Extra-Flexible Waterproofing Mortar: A double-component, extra-flexible waterproofing mortar consisting of green-coloured powder and white-coloured liquid emulsion, based on cement and used with acrylic dispersion for resolving waterproofing problems, suitable for use from the positive side only. Can be applied by brush or spray. Extremely flexible. Provides impermeability against pressurised water effects. Resistant to severe weather conditions. Highly adhesive and bonds strongly to surfaces. Used both horizontally and vertically. High abrasion resistance. Has crack-bridging properties up to 1.5mm in accordance with TS EN 14891. Suitable for interior and exterior spaces. Safely used in all wet areas from bathrooms to terraces, water tanks to swimming pools, and spa and thermal facilities.
