AkzoNobel expands capacity at four powder coatings plants

AkzoNobel invests over USD 30 million in North American powder coatings facilities to increase production efficiency and meet growing demand for sustainable solutions. AkzoNobel is investing more than USD 30 million to install advanced technologies at four powder coatings facilities in North America and increase total production capacity. The company is adding new extruders, thermoplastics and adhesion systems to its facilities in Reading, Pennsylvania; Warsaw, Indiana; Nashville, Tennessee and Monterrey, Mexico. The goal is to achieve multiple benefits including increased production efficiency and expanded application capabilities. Among the key advantages of powder coatings are their superior durability and resistance to corrosion, chemicals and UV radiation. This durability makes it easier to achieve longer-lasting coatings, reduces maintenance requirements and extends the service life of coated products.
