Axalta has been selected as the 2021 Global Commercial Vehicle Coatings Company by Frost & Sullivan. Axalta was recognized for the Best Practices Award, presented annually, for developing innovative coatings that address OEMs' evolving needs in designing lighter vehicles and exterior components, and for its leadership in commercializing innovation and high-efficiency coating solutions.

Axalta's Imron® and Rival® coating solutions stood out in the Frost & Sullivan analysis by increasing efficiency while saving time and energy by reducing the number of steps in the application process. New basecoat products feature a unique characteristic: the ability to be applied directly to plastic surfaces without any adhesion promoter, and the coating application process is reduced from the traditional three steps to two steps.
Imron Elite ColorPlus primer basecoat is a first-class basecoat system specially designed for new and complex paint schemes for hobby and sport activity vehicles. ColorPlus uses 30 percent less material and reduces cycle time by 30 percent while still providing a superior topcoat.
Imron 2K, a high-durability clear coat launched in September 2020 for European customers, stands out from competitors in the region. This clear coat maintains its durability and gloss after multiple wash cycles and is designed to comply with mandatory volatile organic compound (VOC) limits in European countries.
Rival DTM Topcoat RV901 and RV902 reduce overall painting costs for customers and are easy-to-apply, direct-to-metal (DTM) coatings that perform well in non-corrosive and lightly corrosive environments. The product also eliminates the need to build additional inventory for new activators and has single-stage application capability using conventional activators.
