Interview with Ali Dilber, General Manager of Filizer Boya

We conducted a very pleasant interview with Ali Dilber, General Director of Filizer Boya, in this issue of our magazine. Mr. Ali Dilber shared valuable information with our readers about the history of Filizer Boya, the sectors it serves and its activities.

Could you introduce yourself so we can get to know you better?

After graduating from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering in 2007, I immediately started working at Filizer Boya and Kimya San. Tic. Ltd. Şti., which was founded by my father Mehmet Bahattin Dilber. I placed great emphasis on R&D work and for this reason I tried to participate in paint trade fairs as a visitor and later as a participant whenever possible. I obtained much information from these fairs, and I continue to visit them whenever I can.

Could you share the founding story of Filizer Boya and the stages it has gone through until today?

We began our commercial activities with pigment and paint sales when Mehmet Bahattin Dilber founded Dilber Boya company in 1985. In 1994, we established Filizer Boya and Kimya San. Tic. Ltd. Şti. and moved into serigraphy ink production. Meanwhile, we accelerated our R&D work and began producing polyurethane liquid masterbatch paints and all types of polyurethane-related paints alongside serigraphy inks. In addition, we included other paint items such as PVC, ABS, silicone, thermoplastic, EVA and mold release silicones in our production. Since 2016, we have been adding industrial chemicals to our production and continuing to increase our product diversity. Which sectors do you serve today and what are your product groups for the polyurethane sector?

The sectors we serve include synthetic leather, polyurethane, PVC, EVA, thermoplastic footwear and slipper manufacturers, as well as injection polymer manufacturers such as polypropylene, polyethylene, polystyrene, moblen and ABS, plastic ball manufacturers, and the print primer sector, among many others. For the polyurethane sector, we produce liquid masterbatch, effect paints, cleaning solvents and mold release products.

What studies do you conduct to develop your products and what resources do you allocate to these studies?

Our products are tested and developed in our application laboratory in accordance with quality and standards in line with our customers' needs. In addition to laboratory research, we also conduct field trials. We continuously create and develop solutions by exchanging information mutually with our customers. As Filizer Boya and Kimya San. Tic. Ltd. Şti., our products hold ISO 9001: 2015 certification and we provide products of this quality to our customers. Furthermore, in terms of resources allocated to these studies, we continue to renew all the machinery we use, including laboratory equipment, with new technological capabilities.

Could you tell us about your sales activities? Which regions do you primarily supply and what types of products do you sell?

Strictly adhering to agreed delivery times, then monitoring customer perception and evaluating accordingly, has been our priority as a company. Of course, in this process, convincing the customer, ensuring acceptance of product correctness, and if necessary, conducting sample-based inspections are part of this process. Besides this, while the domestic market is our main focus, we also conduct sales of our products to different countries, particularly Turkic republics, as well as Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia and Russia.

What points do you pay attention to before and after sale to maintain customer satisfaction?

Since our first priority is to ensure customer satisfaction, we try to fulfill orders as quickly as possible and manage our inventory effectively by tracking our customer's purchasing habits. By conducting frequent customer visits, we monitor the satisfaction and needs of our customers. Standard product quality is very important for our company. As a company that holds ISO 9001: 2015 quality certification, we produce products of this standard and quality. For this reason, every product goes through numerous tests and controls before and after delivery within the scope of the technical equipment we possess, in accordance with the quality and standards we have committed to. Our goal is to deliver quality to the customer in the fastest and most correct manner.
