Santa Farma Expanding Global Partnerships Santa Farma has advanced its strategic partnership with ADALVO, which began in 2020. Under a new agreement, five different products used in type 2 diabetes treatment will be jointly marketed by ADALVO and Santa Farma worldwide, particularly in Europe. Santa Farma placed its production facility into service for the Turkish pharmaceutical industry in 2015. Located in Dilovası, Kocaeli, the facility spans 43,000 square meters and was built with a EUR 150 million investment, employing the latest production and building technologies. The facility holds EU-GMP, TR-GMP and Jordan GMP certifications and maintains an annual single-shift production capacity of 150 million units. Santa Farma manufactures products for Turkey and export markets, and also provides support to global and domestic pharmaceutical companies seeking to localize imports. The partnership between Santa Farma and ADALVO began in 2020 with a joint development agreement for a urology product. The scope of cooperation expanded last year when a product used in major depression treatment was added to the agreement. Under the new agreement, five additional products used in diabetes treatment have been included in the global partnership. Five new products used in type 2 diabetes treatment will be jointly marketed by ADALVO and Santa Farma worldwide, particularly in Europe. ADALVO, headquartered in Malta, operates offices in 16 different countries and markets its products in 124 countries across oncology, central nervous system disorders, rare diseases, immunology, ophthalmology and diabetes. Santa Farma Vice President of Strategic Planning and Operations Sami Kiresepi stated: "Diabetes, one of the most important health problems today, occurs in approximately one in every ten people. Only 50% of these patients constitute those who have received a diabetes diagnosis and are being monitored for disease progression. The prevalence of diabetes is known to be increasing, and it is projected that diabetes prevalence will rise to 10.2% by 2030 and 10.9% by 2045, reaching 700 million people. With the global partnership agreement we have signed between Santa Farma and ADALVO, we aim to ensure that diabetes patients worldwide have easy access to treatment."
