Rönesans Holding Chairman Dr. Erman Ilıcak said that discussions are ongoing for new partnerships and collaborations with Japanese companies in addition to existing business relationships.
He continued as follows:
"We forecast our average annual revenue at USD 5 billion. We can obtain more than approximately USD 1 billion, which corresponds to 20 percent of our annual revenue, from our business collaborations with Japanese companies in Turkey, Africa, Balkans and Central Asia markets." Rönesans Holding Chairman Dr. Erman Ilıcak, who gave an interview to Nikkei Asia, Japan's leading financial and economic news outlet, announced that they will expand partnerships and collaborations with Japanese companies. In this context, Ilıcak said that discussions are continuing with Japanese companies for various projects worth a total of USD 3 billion.

New projects with Japanese business partners

Ilıcak shared that they are planning new projects with Japanese business partners in different geographies using the Engineering-Procurement-Construction-Financing (EPCF) model. He stated that through this model they are bringing end-to-end business solutions to developing countries where Japanese business partners are also strong, and that these countries are increasing their capacity to implement infrastructure and social amenities projects. Ilıcak identified the ongoing projects under discussion as: hospital construction and operation in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, production of green hydrogen from solar energy in the Petrochemical Industry Zone in Ceyhan where investment continues, and decarbonisation of steel mills in various countries. He also noted that they are holding discussions for equity acquisition from a Japanese engineering firm to facilitate project integration. Ilıcak stated that they are progressing with their partner Sojitz at Başakşehir Çam and Sakura City Hospital in Istanbul for hospital investments abroad. Rönesans Holding Chairman Dr. Erman Ilıcak was recognized in May with the 'Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star' with Neck Ribbon, Japan's highest state decoration, by Japanese Emperor Naruhito for his contributions to strengthening business cooperation and friendship between Turkey and Japan.

20 percent of revenue to come from partnerships with Japanese companies

Noting that Rönesans Holding's growth in international markets continues, Ilıcak stated: "We forecast our average annual revenue at USD 5 billion. We can obtain more than approximately USD 1 billion, which corresponds to 20 percent of our annual revenue, from our business collaborations with Japanese companies in Turkey, Africa, Balkans and Central Asia markets." Ilıcak continued: "By combining our experience, accumulated knowledge and labour force in these countries with our Japanese partners' appropriate financing and technology capabilities, we have achieved good results both in engineering-procurement-construction-financing (EPCF) and in public-private partnerships (PPP). Through this collaboration, we are highly competitive across a wide geography."
