Kayalar Kimya Launches "Senin Fikrin" Platform

Kayalar Kimya has launched "Your Idea Platform" with the participation of all employees to develop innovation projects that will generate high value and economic returns. Among many innovative projects proposed under the platform, Mehmet Koray Sücüllü won a prize of TRY 50,000 for the panel adhesive product Gb109 he developed. Mehmet Koray Sücüllü received his award from Tolga Kayalar, Board Member of Kayalar Kimya.

Tolga Kayalar, Board Member of Kayalar Kimya, made the following remarks on the subject:

In March 2022, we established Your Idea Platform within the scope of the Turkish Exporters Council (TİM) Inosuit Innovation Project. In the process managed by the Innovation Management Team and Innovation Committee established within the company, we evaluate the suggestions from our colleagues that come through Your Idea Platform. We identify value-added projects and reward those who contribute to our company's innovative perspective. Our valued colleague Mehmet Koray Sücüllü was deemed worthy of the award for developing Gb109, a panel adhesive that is economical, durable and easy to apply. I congratulate him and wish continued success."

Mehmet Koray Sücüllü, who stated that he has felt great happiness and pride working at Kayalar Kimya since 2015, described the product development process as follows:

"Following the earthquake that struck our country, during our field visits we met with manufacturers producing prefabricated houses. I noticed that almost all of these companies were using marine adhesive or non-expanding polyurethane spray adhesive for panel joining. I presented the idea of producing an alternative to these products to Your Idea Platform. Our R&D managers were also consulted and, after performance tests were conducted, the decision was made to produce the alternative product. Our product, which we named Gb109, is 100 percent more economical than competitors and easy to apply and clean. Additionally, it has excellent durability in both summer and winter conditions. Once curing is complete, the product is water-resistant and has insulation properties."       Kayalar Kimya, with foundations laid in 1976, is among the leading companies in the sector today with a rich product range spanning from paints to varnishes, water-based exterior wood paints to industrial paints.
