IMCD Group Announces New Appointment

IMCD N.V. announced the appointment of Dr. Fikri Alemdaroğlu as Director of the Synthesis Business Group effective 6 January 2020. Fikri Alemdaroğlu will lead the Global Synthesis Business in defining further growth strategies, expanding into new regions while strengthening customer and supplier relationships. Alemdaroğlu will be based at IMCD's Cologne office and will report to ExCo member Frank Schneider and Business Group Director Paints and Construction. Dr. Fikri Alemdaroğlu, Director of the Synthesis Business Group, stated: "The Synthesis Business offers a comprehensive portfolio covering relevant product groups for the production of diverse specialty chemicals and polymers. Following 'megatrends', we will expand our product portfolio to meet the demands of our changing society and support our customers in developing innovative products that can create the next impact." Alemdaroğlu gained more than 12 years of successful experience at leading chemical groups such as BASF in Germany, subsequently transitioning his R&D career to Business Development in Turkey. In 2013, he joined Daikin in the Business Development field and returned to Germany as Business Director. Alemdaroğlu, who is Turkish, holds a doctorate in Organic Chemistry.
