Gilead Turkey Appoints New Medical Director

Dr. Serhan Sevgi appointed to Gilead Turkey Medical Director position.

Dr. Serhan Sevgi, an experienced name in the sector, has been appointed to the Turkey Medical Director position at science company Gilead. For 33 years globally, science company Gilead has focused on developing innovative treatments in HIV/AIDS, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, inflammation, oncology and systemic fungal infections, and continues to expand and strengthen its management team through new and experienced transfers. Dr. Serhan Sevgi was appointed to the Gilead Turkey Medical Director position as of January 2022. Dr. Tahsin Gökçem Özçağlı, who had been serving as Turkey Medical Director since 2015, joined the Eastern Europe Hub team as Medical Director last year. With his new position, Sevgi will also assume responsibility as a member of the Gilead Turkey Leadership Team. Starting his position in January, Serhan Sevgi is a graduate of Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. He began his career in 1995 as a physician at Ağrı Central Health Center. He then completed his specialization in Pharmacology and Clinical Department at Istanbul University. Between 2000 and 2019, he held various positions and responsibilities at Novartis. For the last two years, he served as Oncology Medical Director at Novartis.
