Bursa-Tajikistan Cooperation Protocol Signed A cooperation protocol was signed at DOSABSİAD to develop economic and commercial relations between Bursa and the Khatlon Region of Tajikistan. The delegation, which also visited companies in the region, rolled up its sleeves for new investments. Bursa - Tajikistan Inter-Regional Business Forum and Bilateral Business Talks programme was held under the auspices of the Demirtaş Organize Sanayi Bölgesi Sanayici İş İnsanları Derneği (DOSABSİAD). The ceremony where the cooperation protocol was signed between DOSABSİAD and Khatlon Chamber of Commerce and Industry was attended by TÜGİAD Chairman-DOSABSİAD Board Chairman Nilüfer Çevikel, DOSABSİAD Board Vice-Chairman Akif Dikici, Tajikistan Khatlon Region Investment and State Property Management Department Head Qirbonzoda Qurbonali, Dangara Free Economic Zone Head Muhammed Yatımzoda, Kulab Free Economic Zone Head Mustafa Abdullozoda and the business delegation.
Chairman Nilüfer Çevikel noted that trade volume between Bursa and Tajikistan stands at approximately USD 10 million, and said their aim is to introduce investment opportunities and cooperation possibilities to their members. Çevikel made the following remarks on the subject:
"Tajikistan is a country that continues to accelerate economic growth with an export volume of USD 2.5 million. As DOSABSİAD, we have taken action both to contribute to the development of commercial relations and to enable our members to benefit from investment opportunities in the region. The fact that energy costs, which have put pressure on our industrialists in recent years, are quite low in Tajikistan will make this country even more attractive in terms of investment direction."

We have launched a process that will benefit both countries

Çevikel, who also pointed out that geopolitical position has no significance in expanding trade volume between the two countries, continued as follows:
"It has been proven time and again on global markets that investments in machinery are not as advantageous as investments in labour. Providing qualified labour for export-oriented growth and developed trade volume is very important. At this point, we have launched a process that will benefit both countries."   Qirbonzoda Qurbonali, Head of Tajikistan's Khatlon Region Investment and State Property Management Department, also noted that Turkey and Tajikistan are two fraternal nations with strong historical ties and shared cultural heritage. Emphasizing that Tajikistan cooperates with Bursa-based companies focusing on the textile and automotive sectors, Qurbonali continued as follows: "We want to establish new business connections with Bursa in different sectors. DOSABSİAD will serve as an important bridge in this regard." The Tajikistan delegation, consisting of representatives from the textile, food and automotive sectors, visited companies in the region and held cooperation-focused talks.
