Surface Treatment and Coating Technologies Meet at Major Event
The Eurasian edition of the world's leading Industrial Coating Technologies Fair, PaintExpo Eurasia, PAINTEXPO EURASIA 2019 and the International Surface Treatment and Galvanizing Technologies Fair, SURTECH EURASIA 2019, concluded successfully.
Visitors and purchasing delegations from 55 countries showed strong interest in this major event, which particularly highlighted next-generation robotic technologies. A panel featuring key industry figures was organized as part of the event.
In this panel, where many topics of sectoral relevance were discussed, corrosion emerged as the primary focus. Speakers emphasized the financial impact of losses caused by corrosion and discussed what measures could be taken for national corrosion control efforts.
Corrosion Control Must Be Prioritised
Alim Kınoğlu, Vice Chairman of the General Galvanizers Association (GALDER), highlighted the importance of corrosion control. Noting that one of the first steps that could be taken in this regard is the inclusion of corrosion in public procurement specifications, Kınoğlu also recalled that the galvanizing process can extend material lifespan to 70 years. H. Yener Gür'eş, Chairman of the Turkish Structural Steel Association (TUCSA), stated that they estimate Turkey's losses due to corrosion to reach USD 50 billion. Noting that at least USD 7.5 billion of this figure could be recovered, H. Yener Gür'eş emphasized that corrosion control should be treated as a national priority.Robotic Transformation Accelerating
Vedat Güngören, Chairman of the Board at VIG Makine, stressed in his remarks that the sector is undergoing transformation. Noting that skilled semi-skilled and direct personnel are increasingly difficult to find today, Güngören drew attention to the sector's rapid shift toward robotization and robotic applications.Productive Fair with Visitors and Purchasing Delegations from 55 Countries
PAINTEXPO EURASIA 2019, the leading industrial coating fair with 84 exhibitors including 22 foreign companies, and SURTECH EURASIA 2019, the concurrent surface treatment and galvanizing fair uniting regional leaders with 66 exhibitors including 26 foreign companies, brought the sector together. Nearly 4,000 visitors, including 411 from abroad, and numerous purchasing delegations from a total of 55 countries attended these fairs. Participation was highest from Germany, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Algeria, France, England, Iran, Italy, Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia.Surface Treatment and Industrial Coating Technologies Meet
Within Turkey's national technology initiative, surface treatment and industrial coating technologies hold major significance for increasing exports and achieving global brand objectives. These two technologies in particular provide essential qualities such as smoothness, durability and aesthetic appeal that are crucial factors in determining product pricing and enhancing consumer appeal. In this context, the joint organization and simultaneous conduct of PAINTEXPO EURASIA and SURTECH EURASIA fairs creates a significant advantage for sector professionals.Advertisement
