Yeşilay Opens Applications for Short Film Competition

Yeşilay's Healthy Ideas Short Film Competition Applications Now Open Applications for Yeşilay's Healthy Ideas Short Film Competition, now in its sixth year, have begun. The competition, organized with support from the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, has the theme "Drug Addiction Through the Eyes of Youth." Students enrolled in undergraduate and graduate degree programs across Turkey can participate in the competition with works in either fiction or documentary format. Applications will continue until 16 September 2022 through the website kisafilm.yesilay.org.tr. Yeşilay General Director M. Nurullah Atalan, noting that they place great importance on prevention work and projects targeting youth, stated: "We are running many projects for our young people. With the Healthy Ideas Short Film Competition, which we are organizing for the sixth time, we aim to reach our youth and communicate the importance of fighting addiction through their perspective. Because seeing addiction through their eyes inspires us in our work, and reaching more people through these invaluable works contributes greatly to our vision of a healthy society. We very much wish to see our young people as our companions in our fight against addiction and as Yeşilay volunteers. As Yeşilay, we aim to expand the reach of our efforts by telling the story of drug addiction through cinema's universal language; we eagerly await seeing the works that will be submitted," he said. The Healthy Ideas Short Film Competition accepts applications for fiction or documentary films shot within the last 12 months, ranging from 30 seconds to 5 minutes in length. TRY 104,000 in Prize Money

The competition will award first, second and third place prizes in both fiction and documentary categories. In both categories, first place will receive TRY 18,000, second place TRY 13,000 and third place TRY 8,000. The winner of the work deemed worthy of the Turkish Ministry of Culture Special Award will receive TRY 18,000. Additionally, the creator of the work selected as the "People's Favorite Special Award" through voting on Yeşilay's website will receive TRY 8,000.
