Bostik Strengthens Position Following Arkema Acquisition
Bostik, a subsidiary of French TOTAL Group, has been sold to Arkema Company. The acquisition of Bostik, a leading adhesive specialist in construction, industrial manufacturing and consumer markets, was executed on a global scale. As part of Arkema's long-term development strategy, the acquisition has further reinforced Bostik's position as a significant player in the adhesives sector. Bostik, which produces smart solutions "from cradle to grave, from home to office," operates in 50 different countries. It houses over 20 brands, with 48 production facilities, 16 research and development centers spread across 5 continents, and approximately 5,000 employees. With main product groups encompassing "chemicals, mortars, adhesives and sealants," Bostik is an ambitious global brand serving the construction, marine, automotive, transport, packaging and hygiene sectors. Developing its technology with a focus on innovation, emerging regions and operational excellence, Bostik aims to form a stronger specialty chemicals group with enhanced resources. As the firm with the "widest building products range" across ten separate product groups, Bostik will be better positioned to meet the needs of its global customer base following the acquisition. Bostik holds a strong position in the Turkish market, with production facilities in Hadımköy and Çorlu. These facilities have a combined annual production capacity of approximately 250,000 tonnes. It is indicated that the acquisition will have positive short-term effects on the Turkish market, as it has globally.Advertisement
