PERFUME PRODUCTION WITH ENDEMIC PLANTS SPECIFIC TO TURKEY AND TRADITIONAL GULLY AND NANO-CARRIER PERFUMES

The oldest perfume maker mentioned in written records is Tapputi, a Babylonian female chemist who lived around 2000 B.C. Babylon was the capital of the ancient world at that time. The idea of making perfume from a thousand varieties of flowers blooming in famous vineyards seems unlikely to anyone. Perfume is considered one of history's greatest inventions and is as captivating as the concept of paradise itself. Secret Ae-Ge Laboratories, with their secrets and prestigious brands, are an arena where power struggles take place. The first distillation of rose oil by Ibn-i Sina is of great importance. What is interesting is that it was considered a medicine at that time. In France, state decorations are awarded to few people capable of making perfume, and they are recognized as artists. Perfume has been used at all times to create perceptions of wealth and power. Unfortunately, our country does not have a presence in this pinnacle product of cosmetics, which is as powerful and brand-dependent as perfume itself. (1,2,3)

The EU is the largest market for cosmetics. Turkey's share in the global cosmetics market was around 1.5% ten years ago but is now around 0.7%.

Imported Cosmetic Products in the Turkish Market

Only 10% of quality branded cosmetic products sold in Turkey are of Turkish origin. Turkey's cosmetics and personal care products imports were approximately USD 589 million in 2010.

Why Traditional & Nano-Carrier Perfumes?

In recent years, developments in the chemical industry, parallel to scientific progress, have been observed increasingly in nanotechnology and biotechnology fields. The chemical industry represents a historical turning point as the field where scientifically revolutionary developments—essentially reconfiguring living matter—are applied to industry. Perfume, considered the pinnacle of the sector, is regarded as one of humanity's greatest inventions of all time and serves a function as the key to human memory.

Raw Materials Required for Perfume Production

Perfume is a combination of chemicals that produce different aromas. These substances can be obtained from synthetic or natural raw materials. Natural-source products are always more expensive than synthetic ones, and their market share is increasing each day.
