“Life Sciences Ingredients,” Türkiye’s Only Product Ingredients Trade Fair, Held
Turkey's chemistry sector, which has long held the status of the country's second-largest exporting industry, brought together 5,553 professional visitors from 63 countries in Istanbul on 24-26 October 2019 under the "Life Sciences Ingredients" concept.
The top ten countries with the highest visitor attendance at the fair were: Iran, Jordan, Iraq, Bulgaria, Germany, Algeria, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kuwait and Uzbekistan.
Three concurrent trade fairs held under the "Life Sciences Ingredients" umbrella — "International Food, Nutritional Ingredients, Raw Materials and Technologies Fair-Food & Nutritional Ingredients", "International Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Raw Materials and Technologies Fair-Pharmaist" and "4th International Cosmetics, Personal Care, Detergent and Home Care Ingredients, Raw Materials and Technologies Fair-Cosmetics & Home Care Ingredients" 2019 — brought together thousands of professionals from Turkey and abroad.
Artkim Fuarcılık General Director Cengiz Yaman, who united Turkey's chemistry sector — which reached USD 15 billion in exports in the first nine months of 2019 — under the "Life Sciences Ingredients" concept and noted it is Turkey's only raw materials fair, said: "We held a highly successful fair in terms of both exhibitor and visitor numbers. Across Cosmetics & Home Care, Food & Nutritional and Pharmaist, we accommodated a total of 3,835 square meters of space and received 5,553 visitors from 63 countries. Our largest international visitor groups came respectively from Iran, Jordan, Iraq, Bulgaria, Germany, Algeria, Russia, Turkmenistan, Kuwait and Uzbekistan."
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Chairman Rint Akyüz of the Turkish Food and Beverage Industries Federation (TGDF) stressed that "the fairs offer an important opportunity for industry players in food, chemistry, cosmetics, personal care, detergents and home care to expand internationally, and that through these events Turkey's exports to important regional markets could increase."
Leaders shaping the food and pharmaceutical raw materials sector gathered at a panel organized within Food&Nutritional Ingredients and Pharmaist
At the panel held on the first day at Istanbul Fair Center, Aromsa General Manager Murat Yasa, Deputy Chairman of the Food Ingredients and Developers Manufacturers Association (GIDABİL) and Deputy Chairman Rint Akyüz of TGDF, Chairman of the Board Samet Serttaş of the Food Supplement and Nutrition Association (GTBD), and BASF Pharmaceutical Solutions Sales Director for Turkey, Middle East, Russia and Africa Tanju Cepheli participated as speakers. At the panel addressing the latest global and domestic developments, innovations and agenda-setting issues regarding the food and pharmaceutical sectors within Food & Nutritional Ingredients and Pharmaist, speakers reached consensus particularly on the necessity of addressing sustainability and the importance of making investments according to global nutritional habits.Chemistry sector's successful women met at Women in Life event
Two boundary-breaking women executives, Aromsa Deputy General Manager Melis Yasa Aytaman and Sentromer DNA Technologies founder Pınar Akalın, shared their success stories with the chemistry sector's accomplished and powerful women at the Women in Life event organized as part of the concurrent Cosmetics & Home Care Ingredients, Food & Nutritional Ingredients and Pharmaist fairs. Aytaman, noting that companies are financially stronger in sectors with female workforce, said: "We truly need more women managers." At the Fragrance Workshop organized within the Cosmetics & Home Care Ingredients Fair, presentations on "Design Your Own Room Fragrance", "Correct Essence Selection in Cosmetics", "The Importance of Branding in the Cosmetics Sector" and aromatic extracts were well received. The CHCI Conference addressing the latest technological developments, trends and projects in the sector, the "Innovation Corner Area" showcasing innovative products, and the "Product Formulation Area" where prototype samples are produced in a laboratory setting were among the events closely followed by visitors.Advertisement
