Turkey's First Zero-Emission Fuel Tanker WOLF 1 Launched

WOLF 1, a zero-emission fuel tanker built by Hicri Ercili for Petrol Ofisi Group, was launched into the sea during a ceremony in Yalova. The first of its kind in the sector and a 100 percent Turkish engineering product, WOLF 1 will provide Turkey with a competitive advantage in international waters in line with the country's sustainable maritime vision. WOLF 1 constitutes the first phase of a total of four fuel supply ship projects.

WOLF 1, a fuel tanker built by Hicri Ercili Group for Petrol Ofisi Group, was launched into the sea at a ceremony held at the shipyard in Yalova Altınova. The ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Durmuş Ünüvar, Petrol Ofisi Group CEO Mehmet Abbasoğlu, Hicri Ercili Group Chairman Murat Ercili, representatives of local government and prominent figures from the maritime and energy sectors. Designed in line with zero-emission principles as a first in the sector, the vessel stands out as a concrete outcome of Turkish maritime's vision of sustainable marine transportation in national and international waters.

Commenting on the project, Petrol Ofisi Group CEO Mehmet Abbasoğlu said: "Turkey's merchant marine fleet ranks among the world's top 10. Maritime's strategic position on the geopolitical agenda plays a vital role in Turkey's goal of complete energy independence and the energy transition agenda. Three more of our ships are currently under construction on the slips. Zero-emission fuel supply tankers will set an example for regional and global waters. Unique in its Class: Reference project in alternative fuel transportation
WOLF 1, with a capacity of 1,750 DWT and forming the first phase of a total of four fuel supply ship projects to be built for Petrol Ofisi Group, combines operational efficiency and environmental sensitivity with infrastructure suited to alternative fuel transportation, fully automated systems and high discharge capacity. Developed in line with a zero-emission approach, the vessel is positioned as a representative of a new generation tanker concept aiming for lower environmental impact and higher operational performance in energy logistics. The launch of WOLF 1 marked a strategic milestone where Turkish shipbuilding's engineering competence intersects with the energy sector's sustainability vision.
