**Türkiye's Electro-Optical Radar "Canovate PanTher Radar"**

Canovate Group ranks among the world's 10 global brands in data center and fiber optic systems technology and end-to-end product portfolio. Research and development and innovation-focused Canovate Group developed PanTher Radar, Turkey's first Electro-Optical Radar. "PanTher Radar", which performs surveillance with a 360-degree field of view in all weather conditions, has begun to be deployed in a wide range of applications including airports, border security, pipelines, coastal safety and forest fire protection. The country's first electro-optical radar was developed by Turkish engineers within Canovate Group following approximately 3 years of research and development.

Drawing Significant Interest

Ulaş Çırpıcı, Director of Electro-Optical Systems at Canovate Group, commenting on the Canovate PanTher Radar, stated: "Canovate PanTher Radar acquires thermal camera panoramic thermal images and signals, and at locations where the product is positioned, enhances security measures under all types of adverse weather conditions. Due to the system's significantly lower cost compared to conventional electromagnetic radars and its ability to capture images and signals in night, snowy, rainy, foggy and misty conditions, potential threats in the area protected by security personnel can be detected at an early stage. Currently, 360-degree detection can be performed with conventional radars. These systems are active systems operating with radio frequency and have very high costs. The Canovate PanTher Radar system we produce does not emit any electromagnetic wave radiation and is a passive system. The system contains a thermal camera capable of capturing 360-degree panoramic images and includes embedded software for image formation and threat detection, and is more cost-effective than its counterparts. Because the PanTher Radar is IP-based, users can monitor and track thermal images and radar alarm signals from any command and control center, and the system can be easily integrated into video management systems. Through the video analytics software contained within the system; object classification (human, vehicle, fire), motion detection, area surveillance and observation in only specific fields of view are enabled. Any motion-related activity within the field of view of PanTher Radar is displayed to the user as a plot/track and an audio alarm is generated. Thus, the coordinates of the potential threat are determined. When a threat entering a designated area is detected as a violation by PanTher Radar, the system sends SMS or email to defined users," he said.

Wide Range of Applications from Military Bases to Ports

Ulaş Çırpıcı, Director of Electro-Optical Systems at Canovate Group, continued his remarks: "With all these features, the system will be used at military bases, airports, locations requiring special security, at borders along the border line, at ports and similar locations, and is an alternative solution to the high-cost radio frequency-based active radars currently in use. PanTher Radar can be adapted to any location requiring security and surveillance needs. In particular, it can easily be used in place of long/short-range radars and CCTV systems. Currently, security and surveillance systems are being installed at airports and border lines in our country, and MOBESE improvement works are being conducted within the city. The Canovate PanTher Radar system we propose can be used in place of imported products for all these systems and provides a low-cost and high-performance solution. Currently, high-cost long/medium/short-range RF radars, PTZ IP CCTV systems and PTZ IP thermal systems are being used in security and surveillance systems. PanTher Radar, on the other hand, performs all the functions of these systems by itself," he said.
