Turkey's R&D Leaders Announced: 500 Companies Invested TRY 183.9 Billion in 2024
According to the R&D 500 Research, the defense industry is once again at the top: TUSAŞ maintained its leadership with R&D spending of TRY 51.5 billion.
Defense sector maintains top position in R&D 500 Survey: TUSAŞ leads with TRY 51.5 billion in R&D spending.
The Turkey R&D 500 Survey, prepared for the 12th time by Turkishtime, was published this year for the first time also covering design centers approved by the Ministry of Industry and Technology.
In 2024, 500 companies made total R&D investments of TRY 183.9 billion.
TUSAŞ ranked first with an investment of TRY 51.5 billion.
It was followed by Aselsan (TRY 31.9 billion) and Roketsan (TRY 6.7 billion).
Aselsan led in female employment (1,889 persons).
Aselsan was the leader in national patents (146 patents), while Doğanlar Mobilya led in design registrations (367 registrations).
This year, "Plant Breeder's Rights" was evaluated separately as a category for the first time; the leading company was Yüksel Tohum (23 rights).
The survey not only creates Turkey's R&D memory but also increases the international visibility of companies.
