SOCAR Turkey, Turkey's largest foreign investor and largest integrated industrial group, is supporting the 14th Turkey Wind Energy Congress (TÜREK) and IV. Azerbaijan Energy Forum to be held simultaneously in Izmir on 4-5 September 2025.
Prior to the event, the Turkey Wind Energy Association (TÜREB) Board of Directors meeting was held at SOCAR Turkey Headquarters. SOCAR Turkey CEO Elchin Ibadov, TÜREB Board of Directors Chairman Dr. İbrahim Erden and Board Members attended the meeting. Discussions evaluated national and international strategies for the congress.
SOCAR Turkey CEO Elchin Ibadov made the following statement following the meeting:
"As Turkey's largest foreign investor, we are pleased to host the TÜREB Board of Directors meeting. While continuing our energy investments, our Petkim RES facility operating since 2017 meets a significant portion of Petkim's electricity needs with 51 MW installed capacity and 45 MW licensed capacity, contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions. Our group company SOCAR Terminal has become a strategic logistics hub in the export of wind energy equipment to Europe. Wind energy is not only a source of generation, but also a strategic lever for Turkey's industry and exports. TÜREB's work will carry this potential further."
TÜREB Chairman Dr. İbrahim Erden noted that SOCAR Turkey's support is highly valuable for the sector, stating:
"The significance of holding TÜREK for the 14th time in Izmir simultaneously with the IV. Azerbaijan Energy Forum is considerable. This will strengthen business connections between the two countries and create new partnerships. Turkey, with its wind energy investments and industry leadership, will bring together more than 3,000 national and international sector professionals at this event."
TÜREK 2025, Turkey's largest and most comprehensive wind energy organization, will be held on 4-5 September at Izmir Hyatt Regency Istinyepark. The congress will include sector consultation meetings, technical tours, sessions, international contacts, exhibition space and B2B meetings. Experts, policymakers, academics and sector representatives from different regions of the world, particularly Europe, will gather at the event to assess the future of the wind energy sector.
