Wildfires Continue Across Türkiye; 4 Dead
On 28-29 July, 63 forest fires broke out across 21 provinces in Turkey. While efforts to extinguish 20 of them continued, three people died in Manavgat district of Antalya and one person in Marmaris district of Muğla, the areas where fires were most intense. It was announced that 183 people affected by the fire in Antalya sought hospital treatment.

Fires in Manavgat, Marmaris and Bodrum began threatening residential areas. Some villages and hamlets as well as some tourist facilities were evacuated. It was also noted that thousands of animals perished.

According to official statements, 43 of the forest fires that broke out have been brought under control, while fires continue in 20 locations.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli stated in a tweet yesterday evening that efforts to bring under control six fires in Adana, two in Osmaniye, four each in Antalya and Mersin, three in Muğla and one in Yahyalı district of Kayseri are ongoing.
