Türkiye İMSAD ‘Investment in the Future Awards’ Winners Announced

Türkiye İMSAD presented its Future Investment Awards-2018 at a ceremony held during the member meeting of Türkiye İMSAD, which marked the organization's 35th anniversary. Ferdi Erdoğan, Chairman of the Türkiye İMSAD Board of Directors, said, "Our aim is to support the building materials industry in contributing to sustainable development." Türkiye İMSAD (Association of Turkish Building Materials Manufacturers) held a meeting with member companies and association representatives within the scope of its 35th Anniversary Member Meeting. Speaking at the Member Meeting where the 'Türkiye İMSAD Future Investment Awards' were presented, Ferdi Erdoğan, Chairman of the Türkiye İMSAD Board of Directors, stated: "As the umbrella organization of the building materials sector, we have carried out important work alongside all manufacturers, subsector associations and stakeholder members over 35 years. To emphasize the importance of the sustainability concept, we began awarding 'Future Investment Projects' as of 2017. In the 2018 'Future Investment Projects', 27 valuable projects were included where best practice examples in sustainability were evaluated by an independent jury. Our aim is to ensure that the building materials industry and companies operating in this sector support sustainable development. We will continue to reward innovative projects that we believe add value to the sector because we believe that differentiation is based on innovation and sustainability," he said. The Member Meeting, where plaques were presented to members completing their 35th year under the association's umbrella as well as new members, was attended by Oya Narin, Chairman of the Board of the Turkey Tourism Investors Association, as a guest speaker. Oya Narin, speaking about current data on the tourism sector and cooperation opportunities for the renovation sector, said, "We will continue our projects by cooperating with Türkiye İMSAD and other tourism associations. Cooperation on project management and project solutions would be very beneficial for the distinctive renovation of existing facilities and for prioritizing aesthetic values," she said.  

Plaques for 35-Year Members

From companies completing 35 years at Türkiye İMSAD, Mehmet Mercan, Director of Investments on behalf of Eczacıbaşı, Okan Gedik, General Manager on behalf of Kaleseramik, Erdem Ertuna, Board Member on behalf of Türk Demirdöküm, Fethi Hinginar, Chairman of the Board on behalf of Türk Ytong, Kenan Aracı, General Manager on behalf of Çuhadaroğlu, Kadir Başoğlu on behalf of Kil-San, Şafak Duran, Board Member on behalf of Valfsel Armatür, and Dr. Kemal Gani Bayraktar, Marketing Director on behalf of İzocam, received the '35th Year' plaques.

Türkiye İMSAD Future Investment Awards-2018

A special ceremony was held at the Member Meeting for the Türkiye İMSAD Future Investment Projects. Following the jury members' evaluations, awards for projects that placed in 2018 were presented to their recipients. In the Future Investment Projects, the first prize in the Environmental Category was awarded to: AKG Gazbeton with the 'Signal Barrier Single Wall and Coating Material (Emibloc)' project. The second prize went to Aluform Pekintaş with the "Aluform Solar Power Generation Project"; the third prize was awarded to Betek with the "Industrial Binder Process Wash Water Recovery" project. In the Future Investment Projects Economic Category, Özyeğin University Energy, Environment and Economy Center (EÇEM) was the first prize winner with the 'BRICKER' project. The second prize was awarded to Erk Mühendislik with the 'Hot and Cold Water Faucet Valve and Pump Circulation Unit' project, while the third prize went to BTM with the 'Energy Savings Through Recovery of Hot Oil Boiler Stack Heat' project. In the Future Investment Projects Social Category, Özyeğin University Energy, Environment and Economy Center (EÇEM) won the first prize with the 'Next Generation' project, while Akçansa received the second prize with the 'Akçansa Betonik Ideas Project Competition'. The third prize was won by Dekor Ahşap Ürünleri Sanayi with the 'Lineadecor Barrier-Free Kitchen' project. Representatives of the prize-winning companies; Uğur Çelikkayalı, Deputy General Manager of AKG Gazbeton, Özhan Olcay, General Manager of Aluform Pekintaş, Serkan Büyükcan, Deputy General Manager of Betek Paints Operational Excellence and Industrial Group, received their awards from Dündar Yetişener, Former Chairman and Current Vice Chairman of Türkiye İMSAD Board of Directors; Prof Dr. Pınar Mengüç, Head of Department of Mechanical Engineering at Özyeğin University and Director of EÇEM, İskender Kostak, Founder Partner and Innovation & R&D Manager at Erk Mühendislik, and Josef Bonfil, Consultant at BTM received their awards from Fethi Hinginar, Former Chairman and Current Board Member of Türkiye İMSAD; Yasemin Somuncu, Senior Architect and Expert Researcher from Özyeğin University, Banu Üçer, Corporate Communications Manager at Akçansa, and Timur Erbil, Product Development Manager at Dekor Ahşap Ürünleri, received their awards from Ercüment Yalçın, Board Member of Türkiye İMSAD and Coordinator of the Board of the Environment-Friendly Materials Committee.
