Turkish Robot Going Global Turkish robot TARQAN has been prepared for international sales. The robot moves rapidly through the warehouse based on its own autonomous decisions when orders arrive, transporting shelves containing products weighing up to one ton to operations staff. This increases picking efficiency by 300 percent while delivering cost advantages alongside speed. Global e-commerce volume has reached 5 trillion dollars, with Turkey's e-commerce sector growing by 69 percent in just one year to reach TRY 381.5 billion. Companies operating in the e-commerce sector need technological support to manage their increasingly growing operations. Technology company OPLOG, which provides software and robotics-enabled fulfillment services, uses its proprietary fulfillment robot 'TARQAN' to help the e-commerce firms it serves manage their operations faster and more efficiently, contributing to their growth.
"Growth and Efficiency in E-Commerce Can Only Be Achieved Through Technology"
OPLOG CEO Halit Develioğlu, noting that the robot is the first and only robot produced by a fulfillment company in the world: "In our sector, where providing only logistics company services is not sufficient, companies are undergoing a transformation where they build their own software teams. As OPLOG, founded as a technology company from day one, our vision includes developing not only software but also robotic technologies. In this context, we entered an area that very few companies in the world dared venture into and produced TARQAN, developed entirely by Turkish engineers," he said. Develioğlu continued: "Tarqan makes a significant contribution to enabling employees to manage operations efficiently. Every day, millions of visitors shop from e-commerce sites with a single click and wait for their orders to reach them as soon as possible. Behind this process are warehouse workers who walk kilometers throughout the day to prepare these orders. In warehouses equipped with Tarqan robotic technologies, this system works differently. When orders arrive, Tarqans move rapidly through the warehouse based on their own autonomous decisions, transporting shelves containing products (weighing up to one ton) to operations staff. This increases picking efficiency by 300 percent while delivering cost advantages alongside speed," he said.
