Adil Pelister: "We represented our country strongly at the K Fair with 213 companies"
İKMİB Board Chairman Adil Pelister, commenting on the fair, stated: "The K Fair is the most prestigious gathering place for the global plastics and rubber sector. The plastics sector, one of the important sub-branches of the Turkish chemistry industry, is gaining greater influence in global competition day by day with its sustainable production approach, strong industrial infrastructure and innovative methodology. By participating at the fair this year with 213 companies, we represented our country's production capacity, technology level and export potential at the highest level.
Looking at chemistry sector exports, we see the plastics sector as the sub-sector with the highest exports. Our total plastics exports in 2024 reached USD 9.4 billion. Total plastics exports for the January-August 2025 period reached USD 6.3 billion. While our total plastics raw material exports in 2024 were USD 2.7 billion, total plastics raw material exports for the January-August 2025 period were USD 1.7 billion. Our objective as İKMİB is to direct our sector towards higher value-added exports, strengthen branding and take Turkish chemistry industry to the top ranks in global markets. Strategic gatherings such as the K Fair carry great importance for achieving these objectives. We will continue our efforts with determination to increase our sector's exports."
