Italian Ambassador Marrapodi Visits Desa's Düzce Factory

Italy's Ambassador to Türkiye, Giorgio Marrapodi, visited Desa's factory in Düzce, hosted by Burak Çelet, Board Member of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Association (CCIIST) and CEO of DESA.

Giorgio Marrapodi, Ambassador of Italy to Turkey, visited DESA's factory in Düzce as a guest of Burak Çelet, CEO of DESA and Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Association (CCIIST).

DESA, the only retail brand operating in Turkey's leather sector with production facilities in Italy, draws attention with its strong presence and investments in the Italian market. With 4 production facilities located in Tuscany and Turkey, DESA combines Turkish leather craftsmanship with Italian aesthetics, bringing the DESA brand to global markets. Producing more than half of leather goods exported from Turkey to Italy, DESA makes a significant contribution to the development of commercial relations between the two countries.

Giorgio Marrapodi, Ambassador of Italy to Turkey, visited DESA's production facility in the Düzce Organized Industrial Zone. Ambassador Marrapodi was welcomed by DESA CEO and Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Association (CCIIST) Burak Çelet and DESA Board Member Burçak Çelet.

During the visit, Ambassador Marrapodi toured the Düzce factory, which covers 10,000 square meters, and received detailed information about leather products manufacturing processes. DESA's advanced technology production lines, quality control systems and sustainability practices were presented to the Ambassador during the visit.
DESA CEO Burak Çelet stated during the visit, "Italy holds a world-class brand value in the leather sector and, as DESA, we have achieved an important position in the global market by combining Italian leather artistry with Turkish production capabilities. Our exports to Italy and our investments in Italy are the most concrete evidence of this strategic partnership."

More than half of leather goods exported to Italy come from DESA
DESA's 2,000-square-meter Italian production facility in the Tuscany region and its showroom in Milan stand out as important investments strengthening the company's presence in the international market. As Turkey's only retail company in the leather sector with production facilities in Italy, DESA combines Turkish leather craftsmanship with Italian aesthetics through this investment, bringing products to global markets.
During the meeting, details of DESA's two-way trade with the Italian market and its production and marketing activities in Italy were shared. Emphasizing that Italy and Turkey have complementary strengths, Burak Çelet said, "I hope that DESA's production and marketing infrastructure established in Italy will serve as an example for all Turkish and Italian companies. By combining Italy's design and branding strength with Turkey's production and craftsmanship skills in our facilities in both countries, we create very important synergy and competitive advantage."

Praise from Marrapodi for DESA
Italian Ambassador Giorgio Marrapodi expressed his satisfaction with DESA's quality production approach and the strong commercial relations it has established with Italy during the visit, stating, "DESA's investments in Italy, its exports to the Italian market and its imports from Italy make an important contribution to the development of commercial relations between the two countries. This type of cooperation between Turkish and Italian business communities adds value to the economies of both countries."

DESA CEO Burak Çelet, who also serves as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Association (CCIIST) and plays an active role in strengthening Turkey-Italy commercial relations, said at the end of the visit, "The visit of Italian Ambassador Signor Giorgio Marrapodi to our factory has greatly motivated me and the entire DESA family. The fact that the Ambassador took time to visit our companies, which have important commercial relations with Italy, and visited in person is of great importance in terms of strengthening commercial cooperation between the two countries. As DESA, we aim to further develop our commercial relations with Italy and increase our investments in Italy."
