Turkish Scientist Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kahraman Achieves Major Success

Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kahraman ranked among the world's top 1000 scientists. Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kahraman, Faculty Member of the Industrial Engineering Department at ITÜ, has been ranked among the world's top 1000 scientists (TOP 1000 Scientists) according to Guide2Research. He holds 808th place in the Computer Science and Electronics Scientists World H-Index ranking, bringing his scientific achievements to the highest level. Guide2Research, one of the important research platforms in computer science, conducts studies to help academics, researchers and postgraduate students reach higher levels in their research. G2R, which ranks based on Google's H-index (H-index) measuring total citations of academics, has released the "TOP 1000 Scientist" list annually since 2014. According to the data released on 16 May 2020 of the G2R Computer Science and Electronics Scientists World H-Index Ranking, our academic Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kahraman, who received 247 points, ranked 808th with 29,519 citations and an H-index of 70, entering the world's top 1000 scientists and achieving a major success. Prof. Dr. Kahraman, who has the most citations in his field in Turkey, ranked second in our country with his score, following Prof. Dr. A. Murat Tekalp, Faculty Member at Koç University.

Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kahraman Has Authored Numerous Successful Works

Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kahraman, born in Üsküdar, Istanbul in 1965, completed his primary and secondary education in Ankara, Balıkesir and Samsun. Beginning his studies at Kuleli Military High School in 1979, Kahraman graduated in 1983 and enrolled in the undergraduate program in the Industrial Engineering Department at ITÜ the following year. After four years of undergraduate education, he received his master's degree from ITÜ Institute of Science Engineering Industrial Engineering in 1990 and his doctoral degree in 1996. Continuing his academic career successfully, Kahraman received his first title as assistant professor in 1996. Our academic was promoted to associate professor in 1998 and to professor in 2003. Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kahraman's main research areas include engineering economics, quality management, multi-criteria decision making, statistical decision making and fuzzy decision making. Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kahraman has authored more than 270 internationally indexed articles, more than 180 international presentations, and more than 110 international book chapters. He served as editor in 19 international books and as guest editor in special issues of numerous international journals. Currently, he serves on the editorial board of 20 international journals, including one as editor-in-chief. Our faculty member, who has also organized numerous international scientific conferences, served as Vice Dean of ITÜ School of Management from 2004-2007 and as Head of the Industrial Engineering Department at ITÜ from 2007-2010, successfully fulfilling his administrative duties at our university. According to research results published by Turkishtime magazine, Prof. Dr. Cengiz Kahraman, ranked 40th on the list of "First 100 Turks Shaping the Science World," is also the recipient of the 2018 TUBITAK Science Award.
