TİM Provides Prefabricated Housing for Earthquake Survivors Living units for 21-30 square meter container and prefabricated homes to be built in Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adıyaman and Malatya will also be covered by TİM. In the TİM Container&Prefabricated Housing Project, which will initially shelter approximately 5,000 earthquake survivors, delivery of homes will begin one month later. Following the earthquake centered in Kahramanmaraş, the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM) launched a relief mobilization and has now rolled up its sleeves to solve the temporary shelter problem for disaster victims. TİM will construct a total of 1,000 container and prefabricated homes in Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adıyaman and Malatya, the centers that suffered the greatest destruction in the earthquake. TİM Chairman Mustafa Gültepe emphasized that Turkey is facing an earthquake disaster of unprecedented scale. Highlighting that all of Turkey has demonstrated a remarkable example of solidarity in the aftermath of the earthquake, Gültepe said: "As the export family, we sprang into action to aid the earthquake survivors from the very first day. Under TİM's leadership and AFAD's coordination, we launched a relief mobilization for the region with our 61 exporter associations. In the first phase, we dispatched emergency relief materials including blankets, clothing, shoes, food items and baby formula. Subsequently, we continue to send relief materials in line with the updated needs lists provided by AFAD. To date, we have sent hundreds of truckloads of relief materials to our disaster zones. Meeting the temporary shelter needs of earthquake survivors during harsh winter conditions is of paramount importance. As the export family, we are taking responsibility in this matter and implementing the TİM Container&Prefabricated Housing Project. We will initially build 1,000 container and prefabricated homes in Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adıyaman and Malatya, where the earthquake caused the most destruction. We will deliver 21 square meter containers and 30 square meter prefabricated homes with electricity, clean water and wastewater infrastructure already in place. We will also provide the living units for the homes that will initially shelter approximately 5,000 earthquake survivors as TİM. We know that shelter is vital for earthquake survivors during harsh winter conditions. Therefore, we will move very quickly. God willing, starting from the third week of March, that is, one month from now, we will begin delivering the homes," he said.   Mustafa Gültepe stressed that solving the temporary shelter problem is vital for normalization in the region. Noting that the faster normalization steps are taken, the more quickly social trauma can be relieved, Gültepe concluded his remarks as follows: "We must make an effort for earthquake survivors to adapt to normal life. We must activate factories and facilities and enable our citizens to return to working life in their own regions. This is extremely important for both our region and our country. To improve the lives of our people, we plan to position container and prefabricated homes next to organized industrial zones. As the export family, just as we have done so far, we will continue to make every effort to do our part in the coming period. Our hearts will continue to beat together with our earthquake survivors," he said.
