TİKAV's Project for Women Continues

Akfen Holding's founder Turkey Human Resources Training and Health Foundation (TİKAV) coordinates the "Savings in Our Home, Future in Our Hands" project, which targets women living in areas where Akfen Renewable Energy's 27 power plants are located. Under the project, which has provided face-to-face training to 2,000 participants, the aim is to raise awareness among women living in rural areas about adopting household conservation methods and creating a lifestyle compatible with nature at a time when the impact of environmental problems has increased. The "Savings in Our Home, Future in Our Hands" project, coordinated by Turkey Human Resources Training and Health Foundation (TİKAV), established by Akfen Holding, is being implemented in 27 different rural areas across 16 provinces of Turkey where Akfen Renewable Energy's power generation plant investments are located. Through the "Savings in Our Home, Future in Our Hands" project, women living in areas where Akfen Renewable Energy's power plants are located are being trained on adopting household conservation methods and creating a lifestyle compatible with nature in an era when the impact of environmental problems has increased. Through the training organized within the project scope, 2,000 women so far have been informed about the wise and conscious use of electrical energy and water, raising awareness on contributing both to household economics and the ecological balance of the world. Following the seminars, participants are also presented with certificates and conservation kits.

Continuing until the end of 2022

The "Savings in Our Home, Future in Our Hands" project will continue until the end of 2022. A total of 23 different training events have been held within the scope of the project. Women from Otluca and Anamur in Mersin, Karacasu and Bozdoğan in Aydın, Acıpayam and Kale in Denizli, Seydikemer and Ula in Muğla, Aziziye in Erzurum, Center in Elazığ, Sarayönü and Ereğli in Konya, Yahyalı in Kayseri, Gemerek in Sivas, Turhal in Tokat, Center in Amasya, Dereli and Bulancak in Giresun, Köprübaşı in Trabzon, Gevye in Sakarya, and Center and Lapseki in Çanakkale have been reached. In the collaboration between TİKAV and Akfen Renewable Energy, the 2017 "We Became Homeschoolers" project reached 800 women in 15 areas on the development of children aged 0-6. In the 2018 health-themed year, the "Health First" project provided health training to 1,500 women in 17 areas. With the 2019 "Hygiene is Health" project, 2,000 women were reached at 26 different locations, while the social responsibility projects implemented over 3 years provided face-to-face training to a total of 4,300 women on various subjects. The number of people indirectly reached through the projects exceeded 16,000.
